So, my pen was compelled to bleed after sometime by ‘Teame artis’ on his work titled NOIR. Beauty of Africans can’t be overemphasized and this inspired a friend, an artist to have the attached work drawn.

NOIR

Judged by the color of my skin even before considering my being human guaranteed my insecurity.
The peak of my pride can be fully manifested when I have my eyelids lowered with the belief that there exist a superior.
My beauty is only considered to be amongst my people but I clamour for it to be known crossing many oceans.
What dignity could I have while the history of fettered hands gets recited.
Desired to be admired with my Bantu knots but there exists a stereotypic belief.
Not being white is what guarantees my survival, come whatever.
Even with my deepest skin tone, having my eyelids raised describes my beauty better.
Noir with cornrows depicts the deeper strength in me.
A greater future starting now awaits an undeniable me.
